Customer FAQ | Frequently asked questions...

1. Do I have to pay a deposit ?

In France, when you buy a property you first sign a "compromis de vente" (a pre-sale agreement). This is usually accompanied by a deposit payment of 5% to 10% of the purchase price. The remaining funds are paid at the time of final completion and all payments handled by registered solicitor (Notaire).

2. What fees do I have to pay ?

Sales agency commission fees are already included in the advertised prices on our site. As a buyer you are required to pay notary (solicitors) fees which are approximately 7% to 8% of the purchase price.

3. How long does it take to buy in France ?

If you are a cash buyer, the purchase could take as little as 6 weeks. If you will be seeking a loan or mortgage, the purchase process will take approximately 2 to 3 months.

4. What if I don't speak French ?

We will assist you throughout the purchase process and can recommend bilingual notaires (solicitors). We can further recommend independent qualified professional translators for your total peace of mind.

5. Are you registered and insured ?

Yes, we are. We hold the legally required 'Carte Professionnelle' (professional real estate licence) and all our team on the ground in France hold the obligatory 'Attestation de Collaborateur' (agent licence). Our professional liability insurance is provided by insurance giants, Allianz. More details on our legal page.

6. Can I have the address of the property ?

For security reasons we are unable to disclose the exact address of a property without authorisation from the property owner. We are always honest and open about the location and situation of our properties so just contact us if you have any queries...

7. Can you help me 'buy to let' ?

Yes, our sister company Pure France is a market leader in French holiday rentals and the majority of properties that we represent for sale would make excellent holiday rental homes. Some will already have established rental activity.
